- nuclei/germinal vesicle; anti-nuclear lamin
- 3G8 (Vize et al., 1995); pronephric tubules and otic vesicle. stg 31/32 onwards.
- 4A6; (Vize et al., 1995); pronephric duct. stg 38/39 onwards
- 5A3 (Jones); somite and heart in tailbud. Other muscles from stage 38/39

- PCNA, proliferating cell nuclear antigen. Commercial from DAKO. Stains "dividing" cells. Actually stains lots of cells, many of which have no intention of dividing. Useful for visualizing migrating crest and some other cell types.
- tor70 (Kushner, 1984); notochord to about stage 28. From stage 40, lateral line, some cranial ganglia, proctodeum, stomodeum and nasal pits.

Polyclonal antibodies
- membrane skeletal protein 4.1 (rabbit); detects post-mitotic cells of retina
