AI Protein Function : The popdc3 gene encodes a transmembrane protein localized to the plasma membrane and nuclear envelope. It functions as a cAMP-binding protein modulating Popeye domain-mediated signaling pathways. This protein is expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, and brain. Its roles include regulation of cardiac electrophysiology by influencing the activity of the pacemaker channel HCN4 and is involved in myoblast differentiation and skeletal muscle regeneration following injury.
